Massachusetts, Berlin House Explosion Kills One Woman, Injures Another
One woman was killed, and another was injured when a house exploded in Berlin, Massachusetts due to an explosion. An explosion at home in Berlin, Massachusetts, early on Friday morning resulted in the death of a woman in her 80s and injured another woman.
In the early hours of Friday morning, a house explosion in Berlin, Massachusetts, claimed one woman’s life and sent another woman to the hospital after neighbors dragged her from the debris of the wreckage.
At 3:30 in the morning on Thursday both victims were inside the two-story house on Pleasant Street when the explosion occurred, which started a fire that quickly escalated to a level that required two alarms.
It is estimated that the deceased woman was in her 80s when she passed away. According to the fire department chief, neighbors raced to the site as the fire spread to help lift portions of the roof off of the woman who survived.

She is currently being treated in a hospital for injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening, and her condition is stable. Later in the morning, firefighters were still putting out hotspots that the fire had created. As a result of flying debris, other people’s homes sustained relatively modest damage.
Berlin Fire Department Chief Michael McQuillen remarked,
“Very heroic for them to be able to get in, lift that up and get her out from underneath that. It was a changing scene. The fire was advancing very quickly at that point, and the seconds matter at that point. It definitely was a factor in saving her life,”
An explosion in a home on Pleasant Street in Berlin, Massachusetts, claimed one woman’s life and injured another. However, the second woman was found to be unresponsive at the scene of the accident and could not be saved by the neighbors who were trying to free her from under a portion of the roof.

According to McQuillen, emergency teams from ten municipalities reacted to the explosion and helped with the response efforts. The identities of the victims have not been made public. Look at the official tweet below:
