Car Accident In South Tulsa: Eugene Quaynor, a student-athlete at Oral Roberts University, was identified as the victim of an automobile crash in south Tulsa, according to the university. The following statement was released by the school and put on the ORU Athletics Facebook page. We are deeply saddened by the passing of Eugene Quaynor, a member of the ORU Men’s Soccer team. Eugene embodied all we stand for as an athletic department. He was the captain of the men’s soccer team, and his spirit-filled heart made him a natural leader who could change the world for Jesus.
We shall never forget #27 and his contagious smile will be sorely missed by all on the ORU campus. Wednesday night, members of the Tulsa Police Department (TPD) rushed to the scene of a fatal collision at East 71st Street and South Yale Avenue. TPD reported that an eastbound sedan had stopped at a red light on 71st because of a traffic light and was struck from behind by a huge SUV. The victim’s car was pushed into the crossroads. The big SUV careened off the road and into the parking lot of a local store.

The vehicle caught fire on collision, and the driver was likely killed instantaneously. The SUV driver, who suffered just minor injuries, was taken to the hospital on suspicion of drunk driving. The TPD is presently looking into the cause of the crash. There’ll be a roadblock at the crossroads for a while. The TPD anticipates filing charges against the SUV’s driver.
