Christopher Walken was born Ronald Walken on March 31, 1943, in Astoria, Queens, New York. Ronald Walken is his given name, but he is better known by his nicknames, Chris and Ronnie. Rosalie Russell, his mother, came to the U.S. from Glasgow, Scotland. Paul Walken, his father, owns Walken’s Bakery in Astoria, New York. He is from Gelsenkirchen, Germany. Walken grew up in a Methodist family with two brothers, Kenneth and Glenn Wälken.
Christopher and his two brothers pursued acting careers because their mother, Rosalie, was very interested in acting and got them involved in the entertainment industry when they were very young.
