Is Cynthia Bailey Getting a Divorce? “I Gave It My All” About Their Two Year Marriage
Hill said they had “been contemplating about going our separate ways for the last few months” in separate exclusive remarks to PEOPLE.
Separation is in the cards for Cynthia Bailey and Mike Hill. After only two years of marriage, the 55-year-old former Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member has filed for divorce from the 52-year-old TV personality. In an interview with PEOPLE, Bailey discussed the breakup: “One can never misunderstand or disobey God. If Mike ended up in my life, it was meant to be. It was with both feet that I dove in and gave it my best.”
“She said, “I am very grateful for our continued relationship and the amazing memories that we shared, even though that journey has come to an end. My prayer is that I will soon find love again. Whatever is meant to be will be, and I for one am thrilled about whatever is ahead.”
Bailey continued, “I hope everyone who has supported me during this incredible journey we call life will stay on board for the rest of the trip! We appreciate your thoughts, prayers, and good wishes.” In an exclusive statement, Hill told PEOPLE, “I love Cynthia and will always love her because she is a fantastic woman and a lovely person.”
While I’m sad that our romantic involvement is coming to an end, I’m glad that our friendship is strong. “We’ve been thinking about splitting up for a while now, so it was healthy for us to have some space to figure things out on our own. She’ll always be there for me, and I’ll always be there for her.” While we both will always have a love for one another, we have decided to go our separate ways,” Bailey and Hill said in a joint statement to Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday.
We are thankful for our continued friendship and will always treasure the numerous memories we created as husband and wife. “We are grateful to our family, friends, and devoted fans, many of whom have been with us from the beginning, for their unwavering encouragement as we embark on this next chapter of our lives. Much appreciation for your thoughts and prayers.” On October 10th, 2020, Hill and Bailey said “I do.” The two of them didn’t even bother to mention that Monday was their second wedding anniversary.
In season 13 of the Bravo reality show, viewers saw them plan and hold a wedding. This was Bailey’s last season on the show, having joined in season 3. During the 12th season of RHOA, Hill also proposed to her now-fiancee. On the PEOPLE Everyday podcast, six months after the wedding, Bailey discussed her new life as a wife. She told her presenter, Janine Rubenstein, “I have to say, since we finally got beyond the ceremony, now my goal is, after finally being married again, staying married.” “I’m just trying to strike a work-life balance.”
Bailey underlined his commitment to his marriage by saying, “When you catch a man, you better keep him. You owe it to your husband to keep him content. I’m simply trying to acclimatize to my new, post-pandemic life, which entails spending time with my wife and kids as well as enjoying some “me time” (something I had plenty of during the pandemic). But things are wonderful between Mike and me.” Bailey and Hill are both remarrying at this point. From 2010 until 2017, she was married to Peter Thomas.
