Jason Derulo, whose real name is Jason Joel Desrouleaux, is an American singer and songwriter. He was born on September 21, 1989. Over 30 million copies of his solo tracks (including “Wiggle,” “Talk Dirty,” “Want to Want Me,” “Trumpets,” “It Girl,” “In My Head,” “Ridin’ Solo,” and “Whatcha Say”) have been sold since he began recording under his name in 2009.

Derulo joined Beluga Heights, a record company run by legendary record producer J. R. Rotem, after contributing to and writing songs for several other artists. Derulo began his music career in May 2009 when he released his debut single, “Whatcha Say,” on the Warner Music Group label that had acquired Beluga Heights the previous year.
