Lookism Season 2: Release Date, Plot, and Where To Watch?
Lookism Season 2 Release Date: Lookism, a Korean Netflix anime, maybe getting a second season, as well as a renewal or cancellation. There are spoilers for the first season in there. The new Netflix series Lookism, which intends to capitalise on the growing popularity of Korean dramas and anime, has been delayed due to the sad events in Seoul this year, making its debut even more anticipated.
The film is based on Park Tae-popular Joon’s webtoon, and it tells the story of a young kid who is relentlessly harassed because of his appearance, but who discovers he can project his consciousness into the body of a much taller, more athletic, and gorgeous counterpart.
Since it is both a k-drama and an anime, Lookism has a huge potential audience thanks to its timely social commentary, established fanbase from the webtoon, and broad appeal. Fans will undoubtedly be looking ahead, and since there is still a lot of the original story to adapt, we figured we might as well lay out what we know so far.
Lookism Season 2 Release Date
Zixuan Wang created Lookism as a Korean Manhwa. In November 2014, the webcomic was first released weekly on Naver WEBTOON, where it quickly became quite well-known across the globe. It became a Chinese character and, as a result, Chinese broadcast series that aired on WeTV Network and featured 38 episodes with a total running time of 30 minutes.
This post will discuss a webtoon-styled Korean adaptation of Lookism that has yet to be available on Netflix. The webcomic was supposed to debut on November 4 but was delayed because of the horrific Seoul Halloween stampede disaster. With the Tudum event taking place on September 25, 2022, Netflix has formally stated that “Lookism” will be published on December 8, 2022. Unfortunately, there have not been any official updates regarding Lookism Season 2, which might be the sequel.
That we need to reinforce that message in 2022 feels like a condemnation of our species as a whole. Yet, here we are, as an overweight young guy named Park Hyeong-Seok faces severe and continuous abuse because of his appearance; the animation focuses on beauty standards in South Korean culture, particularly youth culture. Salvation comes from a different version of oneself, one that is extremely handsome and has a completely different physique, one that is tall and athletic.
Seok’s mother agrees to his request to change schools after learning of Hyeong’s suffering, paying for it by taking a second, menial work that she keeps hidden from her son. Hyeong-Seok tries to reinvent himself but fails when he realises that everyone is the same. He is alone this time, estranged from his mother, and too ashamed to express the depths of his recurring vulnerability as a result of her sacrifices. As a result, he is once again trapped in a vicious loop of misery from which he cannot escape.
Lookism Season 2 Plot
Thanks to their performance, Pyeon Deok-Hwa and Hyung-Seok win the competition show at the school celebration in the “Lookism” season 1 finale. Hyung-Seok declines the music producer’s offer after discovering that he earlier turned down Deok’s job request, even though the latter had declined to work with the former. Deok-Hwa is also left out of the school’s official performance film, but this only fuels his determination.
Choi Su-Jeong appears in the program for the first time, revealing that he, like Hyung-Seok, has two bodies. Chapters 28 and beyond of the original Manhwa will be handled in Season 2. Seok-Hwa may then begin live-streaming alongside other pupils. Su-bodyguard Jeong will most likely be impressed by Hyung-fighting Seok’s abilities, and the other young man will volunteer to tutor him.
Where To Watch Lookism?
Lookism will make its official debut on the well-known OTT platform Netflix on December 8, 2022. The webcomic will be released in Korean with English subtitles. Don’t be confused. Lookism, a Chinese drama that premiered in 2019, will be examined in this section. As previously stated, in 2019, Chinese director Wu Jian Xin made a Chinese Drama based on the original Korean Manhwa.
The first episode aired on September 26, 2019, followed by the last episode on December 1, 2019. This drama series belonged to the subgenres of suspense and romance. Lomon played Tuo Wen Shuai’s “handsome body,” Wayne Zhang played Tuo Wen Shuai’s “ugly body,” Dino Lee played Gu Qi Guang, Zhuang Sen played Li Zhen Cheng, and Wang Zi Xuan played Tao Qiao in the television drama.
