Personal Life
Michael R. Burns, an investment banker, was Loughlin’s first husband from 1989 to 1996. She has now been married to fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli since 1997. Olivia Jade Giannulli and Isabella Rose Giannulli are their two children.
The clothing line Mossimo was founded by Mossimo in the 1990s and was particularly popular at the time. Mossimo’s stake in the company was worth $500 million at its height of success. In the end, the good times were fleeting. Eventually, the company’s stock price plummeted due to its rapid expansion. Iconix Brand Group purchased Mossimo and now the clothing is only sold at Target.
Real Estate
From 2015 to 2020, Loughlin and Giannulli lived in a massive mansion on the grounds of the Bel-Air Country Club in Bel Air, California. When the couple bought the house in 2015, they paid $14 million for it and then spent millions of dollars renovating and enhancing the property. They tried to sell the mansion for $35 million at one point, but no one was interested. A lower asking price of $28.7 million was eventually accepted; however, the final sale price was reduced to $18 million. Justin Mateen, the co-founder of Tinder, was purchased.
In 2015, they sold their Beverly Hills mansion for $18 million, which they had previously occupied. They had previously lived in a Bel-Air mansion that sold for $40 million in 2018 (to a different owner). For $7.6 million, the couple also sold their Aspen home in July 2015.

It was in Laguna Beach’s exclusive Emerald Bay neighborhood that they had previously owned a home. The Malibu of Orange County is Emerald Bay. They paid $1.36 million for it in 1997. In 2008, they offered $12.99 million for the property. They tried to sell the property for $8.5 million a year later when the real estate market collapsed—accepted $4.1 million a year later.
Varsity Blues College Admissions Scandal
When the FBI raided Mossimo and Loughlin’s Bel Air home on March 12th, they found the couple in custody for a college bribery scam. An investigation has been launched into claims that they paid $500,000 for their two daughters to be admitted to the University of Southern California’s rowing team, even though neither had ever trained as a rower and had no plans to row at college. Due to the serious nature of the charges against them, they were released on $1 million bail bonds each. Both of them pleaded not guilty on April 15, 2019, and rejected a two-year prison sentence as part of a plea deal. After that, they were charged with money laundering, conspiracy, and bribery, which could result in up to 50 years in prison if convicted.
On October 22, 2019, authorities announced that Loughlin would be charged with “conspiring to commit federal program bribery” as part of the college admissions cheating scandal. In addition, Stanford University graduates have named Loughlin and Mossimo as defendants in a private class-action lawsuit, alleging that their degrees have been devalued as a result of their school’s association with the college cheating scandal.
Even though Loughlin was implicated in the college-cheating scandal, she has been dropped by the Hallmark Channel and all scheduled productions of projects involving her have been put on hold. Hewlett-Packard has also dropped her and her daughter Olivia Jade from their 2017 ad campaign, which they had previously shot with the brand.
A blow has been dealt with Olivia Jade’s career, too. Before the admissions scandal broke, she had lucrative deals and partnerships with brands like Sephora, TRESemmé, and Princess Polly as an internet personality and social media influencer. All of those deals and partnerships came to an end after the brands learned of her involvement.
