As a result, despite playing only 21 games as a sophomore, he averaged 15 points per game. Following that season, he signed with an NCAA-certified team and was declared for the 2020 NBA draught. However, it did not last long and was removed from the 2020 NBA Draft.

After leaving Georgetown, Mac transferred to the “Texas Tech Red Raiders” in May 2020. He made his Texas Tech debut in November of that year, scoring 20 points in a win over Northwestern State. As a junior, he averaged more than 15 points per game.
