Thursday at 7:53 p.m., a shooting was confirmed to have occurred in the 3800 block of Royal Crest Street at an apartment complex, according to Metro police.

When cops arrived at the apartment complex, they discovered a 30-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman with gunshot wounds. At the time of the shooting, the individual is believed to have been involved in a physical fight with another male, according to the police.

Police stated that the perpetrator is suspected of drawing a firearm and shooting the male victim, and may have fled the scene shirtless. As of Thursday evening, the suspect’s current location is unknown. The couple was brought to Sunrise Hospital, where the male was subsequently pronounced dead.

The woman’s injuries are not life-threatening and she is expected to recover, Lt. Jason Johansson of Metro’s homicide unit stated at a news conference on Thursday evening. According to police, no arrests have been made in this case.
