‘The Masked Singer’ Season 8: 5 Things You Need to Know About the Fox Singing Competition Show

Fox has announced that the singing competition series The Masked Singer will return for a ninth season. In light of how successful the show has been over the past seven years, this news should come as no surprise. Season 7’s finale is just a few days away, so this is a timely addition. The appearance of Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York City, in the final season sparked the most controversy yet. Ken Jeong walked off stage during an appearance by the former mayor as Jack in the Box because of the former mayor’s revelation.

Executive producer Craig Plestis said at Deadline’s virtual Contenders event that Season 8 will be bigger and better than ever before. When asked by the executive producer whether or not the show could “wow America,” he replied, “It’s a challenge.” Some of the ideas we’re going to play with FOX are going to be exciting the first time we see them,” he said. So far, the only thing we know about season 8 is that it will be shot somewhere other than Los Angeles, as it has been in the past. Las Vegas has been mentioned as a potential location.

When Will the Masked Singer Season 8 Be Released and Where Can You Watch It?

A specific premiere date has not yet been set for the upcoming season on FOX; however, it is expected to premiere in the 2022-2023 TV season.

Like previous seasons, there will be a new group of celebrities vying for the coveted golden mask. The seventh season of The Masked Singer introduced a new format that eliminated wildcards and first impression guesswork. It was decided instead to divide the competitors into three distinct groups, dubbed “The Good,” “The Bad,” and “The Cuddly” respectively. Although the current format has been criticized by viewers throughout the season, the show’s creators have been informed that viewers do not want to see it used again in Season 8

For the upcoming season of ‘The Masked Singer,’ Nick Cannon will once again serve as host. The Nick Cannon Show, Wild ‘n Out, America’s Got Talent, and Lip Sync Battle Shorties are just a few of the comedic shows he’s been a part of a host. Additionally, he is an actor, having appeared in such films as Love Don’t Cost a Thing, Drumline, and Roll Bounce.

Ken Jeong, Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, and Nicole Scherzinger are expected to return as judges.

FOX Alternative Entertainment is behind the show’s production. Exec producers include Moira Ross, Craig Plestis, and Nick Cannon, among others. Ross is also the showrunner of the series.

Until now, there has not been an official trailer for the film. Stay tuned for more information.

On April 27, Baby Mammoth and Space Bunny fought each other on The Masked Singer. Baby Mammoth was revealed to be Kirstie Alley, and she was kicked off the show. Rachel Ray, Kirsten Dunst, and Reese Witherspoon completed the list of those who correctly identified Alley. Two songs featured both characters, “Me Too” by Meghan Trainor and “Culture Club’s Do You Want To Hurt Me.” There will be a final round of competition on May 11, 2022, and the winner will be announced the following day, on May 18th, 2022.

Week 7:

Week seven of the competition saw an unexpected revelation made during the elimination round. Ex-New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was revealed as Jack in the Box. For his granddaughter, he explained to the judges and host. “It simply felt like a good time. “I don’t get a lot of chances to enjoy myself.” During this week’s episode, only one character was axed.

Week 6:

On Wednesday, April 13th, there were two eliminations. Armadillo, later revealed to be Dog the Bounty Hunter, was one of those sent home. The night’s second elimination was Miss Teddy, revealed to be Jennifer Holliday. Guest panelist Leslie Jordan guessed Holliday, as did judge Nicole Scherzinger. Both Armadillo and Miss Teddy were defeated by Ringmaster.

Week 5:

After Penn Jillette and Teller were exposed as the true villains on April 6, Hydra was evicted from the game. This year’s guest judge, Nicole Byer, was able to correctly guess who the stars were. As Penn put it, “We gave Teller the most of the singing so that you wouldn’t recognize his voice.” In predicting the outcome of Penn Jillette and Teller, guest judge Nicole Byer was spot on. Despite being eliminated, both players were astounded at how far they’d gotten in the game so far.

Week 4:

When it was discovered that Christie Brinkley was Lemur, the world was shocked. After one round on Fox’s competition show, the model mom removed her Lemur mask. Carole King’s “I Feel the Earth Move” was the song she chose instead of the one she had originally planned to sing.

Week 3:

The first double elimination of the competition took place this week, with fans saying their goodbyes to two contestants. Cyclops, Firefly, and Thingamabob sang James Brown’s “I Got You (I Feel Good)” in the Final Showdown before the voting began.

First, the judges and viewers voted for Cyclops to be unmasked, and actor Jorge Garcia appeared beneath the enormous horned head. “I love this show, and it’s an honor to be a part of it,” the former Lost star said. As a result of Cannon’s announcement, Firefly was officially eliminated from contention to compete in the championship round. In the end, Thingamabob turned out to be Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Jordan Mailata.

Week 2:

“PYT (Pretty Young Thing)” by Michael Jackson was the first song performed by Team Good’s Firefly this week as a guest judge. There was also a rendition of “Learn to Fly” by Ram and Cyclops from Team Bad singing Elvis Presley’s “Suspicious Mind.” A rendition of Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” rounded out the night for Team Cuddly. When the votes were tallied, Ram had to remove his mask. Last but not least, both judges Stonestreet and Thicke correctly predicted Joe Buck as a sportscaster.

Week 1:

Team Good drummer McTerrier took to the stage to play drums on their cover of Loverboy’s “Working for the Weekend.” Due to his wild stage antics, McTerrier’s costume head fell off after the show! Host Cannon announced that McTerrier had the fewest votes at the end of the night, and the judges and audience voted for their favorite singer. Goldman, a pastry chef, and Food Network personality was spotted hiding behind the white furry mask.
