Massachusetts Veterans Memorial: Friends United Volunteer Community and Staff Appreciation Dinner
Volunteers and staff at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery enjoyed a dinner hosted by Friends of the Cemetery. It’s an Agawam. On Thursday, April 20, 2023, the Friends of the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery will host the “United Volunteer Community and Staff Appreciation Dinner.”
Dinner and celebration of the volunteers and staff supporting the cemetery will follow the meet and greet, beginning at 5 p.m. at the Agawam Senior Center.
The celebration is meant to show gratitude to the numerous people and organizations who help maintain the cemetery, including the volunteers who work on the Firing Detail and as Chapel Guides at each burial. It will also serve as a tribute to the hardworking individuals who maintain the cemetery.

In addition, the Friends of the MVMC Agawam will honor local organizations and businesses like Six Flags New England, King Ward Coach Lines, and the Town of Agawam for their contributions to the cemetery’s annual Wreaths Across America ceremony, as stated by Masslive.com.

When service members give their lives for their country, the families they leave behind share in their sacrifice. We have an obligation to serve military families as well as they have served us.
