Medical Examiner Says Ivana Trump’s Death Was an Accident!
Ivana Trump was the first wife of former President Donald Trump and the mother of his three oldest children. The New York City medical examiner’s office said Friday that she died accidentally from blunt-force injuries to her torso.
Two people who knew about the situation told The Associated Press on Thursday that police were looking into whether or not she fell down the stairs. They didn’t want to be identified because they couldn’t talk about it in public.
The medical examiner’s brief report did not specify when the accident took place. Donald Trump announced Thursday that Ivana died at her home near Central Park on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. She was 73.

Her son Eric Trump said it was “a very sad day, a very sad day,” as he left the home Thursday. Ivana Trump was born Ivana Zelnickova in the Czech Republic in 1949. She is a businesswoman and ski racer.
From 1977 to 1992, she was married to the former president. Together, they had three children: Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric.
In the 1980s, Trump and his wife became a powerful couple. She ran one of his casinos in Atlantic City and helped him decorate Trump Tower. After Donald Trump met his next wife, Marla Maples, their marriage ended in a messy, public divorce.
But Ivana Trump and her ex-husband had been getting along well in the past few years. She said in a book she wrote in 2017 that they talked about once a week.
Her death came during a fraught time for the Trump family. Two of her children, Donald Jr. and Ivanka, as well as the former president were due to appear in the coming days for questioning in the New York attorney general’s civil investigation into the family’s business practices. But the attorney general’s office agreed to postpone the depositions — a term for out-of-court questioning under oath — because of Ivana Trump’s death.
