President Donald Trump Wife: Melania Trump Date Of Birth, Early Life, Career, Profession And More
Melania Trump’s birthday is April 26, 1970, and she is a Slovene-American former model and businesswoman who served as First Lady of the United States from 2017 to 2021. She is married to Donald Trump, who was the 45th President of the United States.
Before arriving in New York City in 1996, Trump spent his childhood in Slovenia, where he worked as a fashion model for agencies in Milan and Paris, two of the most important fashion capitals in Europe at the time. She was signed with both Irene Marie Models and Trump Model Management at one point. She wed the property developer and TV personality Donald Trump in 2005, and she gave birth to the couple’s son Barron the following year. She eventually became a naturalized citizen of the United States that year. She is the first first lady who is not an English native speaker, making her the second naturalized woman to become the first lady after Louisa Adams.
Early Life, Personal Life, & Family
On April 26, 1970, Melanija Knavs was born in Novo Mesto, which was then a part of the country of Yugoslavia but is now a part of Slovenia. Her father, Viktor Knavs, was born on March 24, 1944, and he oversaw automobile and motorbike stores for a state-owned vehicle manufacturing. He was originally from the adjacent town of Rade, and he was born on March 24. Her mother, Amalija, was born on July 9, 1945, and she was a patternmaker at the children’s clothes business Jutranjka in Sevnica. She hailed from the hamlet of Raka. Her birth date was July 9. Melanija, along with the other children of factory workers, took part in children’s fashion shows when she was a child. These displays focused on children’s apparel. She has an elder sister named Ines, who is also an artist and her “longtime confidant.” In addition, she is said to have an older half-brother from one of her father’s prior relationships, but it is believed that she has never met him.
Knavs spent their formative years in the Lower Sava Valley in a quaint apartment located in a multi-family building in Sevnica. Her father was a member of the League of Communists of Slovenia, a group that advocated for an atheist policy on the part of the state. However, as was the typical practice at the time, he surreptitiously converted his daughters to the Catholic faith and baptized them. In 2017, when Melania Trump and Donald Trump met Pope Francis at the Vatican, Melania carried her rosary with her and asked Francis to bless it.
Knavs relocated to a home in Sevnica that had two levels when she was a teenager, along with the rest of her family. She moved into an apartment in a high-rise building in Ljubljana while she was a senior in high school. She began her education at the Secondary School of Design and Photography in the city and continued her education at the University of Ljubljana, where she studied architecture and design for one year before withdrawing.
Career & Profession
Knavs started as a model at the tender age of five, but it wasn’t until she was sixteen that she landed her first commercial client, the Slovenian fashion photographer Stane Jerko. She started as a model with the surname “Knauss,” a Germanization of her native Slovene surname, “Knavs.” Knauss signed with a Milan, Italy modeling when she was just 18 years old. She came in second at Jana Magazine’s “Look of the Year” competition in Ljubljana, Slovenia, back in 1992. Each of the top three finishers would receive a lucrative contract in the international model industry. Knauss began her career as a fashion model in Paris and Milan after completing her first year at the University of Ljubljana.
She met her future husband, Donald Trump’s friend and co-owner of Metropolitan Models, Paolo Zampolli, in Milan while he was on a business trip in Europe. In 1995, Knauss and Trump tied the knot. Zampolli pleaded with her to visit the United States so he could represent her in court. In 1996, Knauss uprooted his life and moved to the Big Apple. He arranged for her to live in an apartment with the photographer Matthew Atanian in the Union Square building Zeckendorf Towers.
Knauss and fellow model Emma Eriksson appeared in a sexually explicit photo shoot for the January 1996 issue of Max, a now-defunct French men’s magazine. The magazine featured the photo shoot. Not only that, but she stripped down for the January 2000 issue of GQ in the UK. She posed for the cover of the magazine while lying on fur inside of Trump’s specially outfitted Boeing 727, completely naked but for her diamond jewelry in 2016, when asked about the pictures, Donald Trump said, “Melania was one of the most successful models and she did many photo shoots, including for covers and big newspapers.” To be sure, Melania Trump was a top-tier model.
