Natasha Lyonne was born Natasha Bianca Lyonne Braunstein on April 4, 1979. She was raised in an Orthodox Jewish home in New York City, New York. Aaron Braunstein, her father, used to be a boxing promoter, race car driver, and radio host. He died in October 2014.
Lyonne grew up with her mother, Ivette (née Buchinger), and an older brother named Adam Braunstein after her father died. Aside from that, she lived with her family in Great Neck, New York, for the first eight years before moving to Israel for a year and a half.
