His parents, Ronald Daniel, a Nielsen TV ratings box installer, and nurse Karen are DeSantis’ older siblings. From a young age, Ron DeSantis was a baseball all-star who excelled as a pitcher and third-baseman.

He made a significant contribution to the 1991 Little League World Series run by the Dunedin (Florida) squad, which ultimately lost in the quarterfinals. DeSantis was selected as the baseball team captain when he entered Yale University.
