Residents of Oregon who have lost food that they had previously purchased with Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits as a result of recent power outages caused by windstorms and ice storms are encouraged to submit a request for replacement benefits to the Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS).
Households that participate in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and have lost food or disposed of food because it was unsafe to consume as a result of these incidents may apply for replacement benefits to cover the cost of the lost food. They can request that their food benefits be replaced with a sum equal to one month’s worth of the household’s typical benefit amount.
