Thai Actress Tangmo Dead Body Found In River Of Bangkok
After a 38-hour search, the body of Thai actress Nida Patcharaveerapong, better known by her stage name Tangmo, was recovered from the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok on February 26. On Thursday, February 24th, it was reported that Tangmo had gone missing after he had apparently fallen off a speedboat.
Provincial police confirmed Tangmo’s death by drowning at a press conference on March 1, according to Thai PBS World. Tangmo had sand in her lungs, according to the autopsy performed at the Institute of Forensic Medicine at the Police General Hospital, suggesting that she was still breathing when she fell into the river. Days Detjob, Tangmo’s brother, verified her claims of being a real person.
Reportedly, Tangmo, along with her manager, the speedboat’s owner, and three pals, were in a speedboat traveling from Krung Thon Bridge to Rama VII Bridge in Nonthaburi. On Friday, February 25, the survivors gave their testimony to the police in Muang Nonthaburi.
A story from the Bangkok Post claims that at about 10 p.m., Tangmo, without a life jacket, sat at the back of the boat to urinate because the toilet was broken. At that point, she supposedly slipped and fell into the water. Her manager allegedly called for aid after she fell, and paramedics arrived at the scene around midnight, as stated in his deposition. Strong water and low light levels made it impossible to search the river. Approximately one kilometer from where Tangmo is said to have fallen off, her body was discovered.
Tangmo’s left leg had a “severe incision,” which the autopsy said could have been caused by the boat propeller, but could possibly have been inflicted before or after her death. She may have fallen or been pushed from the speedboat, and neither scenario has been ruled out.
