The Dragon Prince Season 4: Updates You Need to Know!

As things heat up in the world of animation, Netflix has been leading the push for original streaming animated series. With the recent release of “Dota: Dragon’s Blood,” based on the computer game “Dota 2,” fans may be reminded of another dragon-themed Netflix series, “The Dragon Prince.” Season 3 has been out for almost a year and a half now, so here’s what we know about Season 4.

Creators Justin Richmond and Aaron Ehasz (“Avatar: The Last Airbender”) have announced at Comic-Con@Home 2020 that “The Dragon Prince” will be a seven-season tale. In this epic tale, humans and elves are at odds over the usage of dark magic vs.

natural magic and the stakes are high. Bringing the dragon prince’s egg back to his mother is the main goal of the young human princes Callum (Jack DeSena) and Ezran (Sasha Rojen), who have banded together with elf assassin Rayla (Paula Burrows). A fourth season is titled Earth after the first three were named Moon, Sun, and Sky.

When is The Dragon Prince Season 4 release date?

There is no release date for Season 4 of “The Dragon Prince” just yet. On the 28th of January, the creators sent an update on their Twitter account, writing: “Ever since the entire Dragon Prince saga was given the green light, our team has been working tirelessly to bring you the newest chapter with all the love, care, and imagination we can muster.

While the epidemic has impacted the process at every level, the reality is that projects of this scale always take a lot of time. The story and scripts are being written, the production crew is being assembled, and other exciting new parts of Xadia are being developed for you to explore. Even though we can’t offer you a release date for Season 4, we want you to know that the new seasons will be worth the wait.

The decision to renew the show for an extra four seasons at once may have altered their production method. For the first time in television history, the showrunners get the unique opportunity to see their series through four seasons in advance.

We know there will be nine episodes in each season, so they may not be focused completely on Season 4. This seems to be the case with the past three seasons, which all came out between 2018-and 2019. However, if they began working on Season 4 following the renewal last July, it’s feasible we may see new episodes at the end of 2021.

Who is in the cast of The Dragon Prince Season 4?

Other than the 2020 Comic-Con@Home panel, little information has been revealed about Season 4, however, fans can presume the main actors will be returning. That includes Jack DeSena, who voices the human prince Callum, who is more generally known as the voice of Sokka from “Avatar: The Last Airbender.” They are joined by Paula Burrows as the youthful Moonshadow elf assassin Rayla, and Sasha Rojen as Ezran, the recently appointed King of Katolis.

This old Startouch elf, whose voice is provided by “Elder Scrolls” actor Erik Dellums, will only grow in significance as time goes on. There will also be a need for the siblings Claudia (Racquel Belmonte) and Soren (Jesse Inocalla) and their father Viren (Jason Simpson) to return to complete the story.

Alongside the returning actors, the series will undoubtedly feature some new characters. However, there’s no information yet about who that might be. It’s more likely that “The Dragon Prince” will bring on additional voice actors than big celebrities, though.

What is the plot of The Dragon Prince Season 4?

We will resume up where we left off in Season 3 with our heroes and villains squabbling over the titular dragon prince in Season 4. Even though the plot hasn’t been fleshed out yet, co-creator Aaron Ehasz said that the story will revolve around the magically imprisoned Aaravos, who has just transformed into a bizarre caterpillar.

In 2019, Ehasz told Inverse that “Understanding Aaravos, who they thought he was, how they came to recognize what was occurring and imprisoned him are the focus of the next two seasons. Aaravos, who may have been one of the mysterious powers that pushed the planet into this condition, now appears to be on the verge of returning or attempting to return to the world, making the task of healing and rebuilding the world much more difficult.”

So far, he’s shown himself to be a cunning foe, swaying the human dark wizard Viren to his will. Presumably, he will only gain power after his caterpillar form emerges from its cocoon. With him at the end of Season 3 is Claudia, Viren’s daughter, who Ehasz stated will become a “critically vital driving force of the narrative in Season 4.” Additionally, co-creator Justin Richmond stated the future episodes will take the plot to new areas in Xadia, so fans can expect interesting new settings for the characters.

Season 4 will have to address “what now?” when it comes to Rayla and Callum, who have finished their task of delivering the dragon prince, Azymondias, to his mother. The pair of them will likely be significant to the prolonged battle between the humans and the elves.
