Wayne Season 2 Release Date Status: Is This Show Coming Out in 2022!
When “Wayne” first appeared on YouTube’s premium channel in 2019, it was the ultimate underdog both on and off the screen, both in and out of the show. To get his father’s Pontiac Trans-Am back, Wayne (Mark McKenna) and his girlfriend Del (Ciara Bravo) go on a rough road trip.
People loved it because it was chaotic and disgusting at the same time. It looked like someone mixed a John Green book and “Dirty Harry” in a blender. This wasn’t a problem because there were not enough people who wanted to help. It didn’t work out that way. When YouTube decided to stop making scripted originals, “Wayne” was forced to live on the streets.
Season 1 of “Wayne” was bought by Amazon Prime in November 2020, giving the show new life. Since then, the show has become more popular, with more people finding Wayne and Del’s amazing road trip and those same fans begging for more of the same thing. There is no official word from Amazon that “Wayne” will be coming back, but it has also not been canceled, which is bad.
It’s because of this that the critically-acclaimed adolescent drama, which has a perfect score of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, has been put on hold. Shawn Simmons, the show’s creator, has high hopes for “Wayne.” Even though Amazon hasn’t bought a second season, Simmons thinks the show will be great. What do we know so far about a possible “Wayne” Season 2? Keep reading to find out!
Wayne Season 2 Release Date
There is no information about when a possible second season of “Wayne” might start because the show hasn’t been renewed yet. Fans would likely have to wait for a long time for new episodes even if Amazon bought another season. Since Season 1 came out in 2019, the cast has been working on different projects.
When it comes to the Peacock original series “One of Us Is Lying,” Mark McKenna, for example, has been cast. The show is now in pre-production. Because there can’t be a “Wayne” without Wayne, a second season will have to wait until the young actor has more time. It’s possible that McKenna could start filming Season 2 of Wayne in the second half of 2021, giving the show a summer 2022 release date at the very least.
Before McKenna and the other actors move on to other projects, if Amazon buys a second season, that’s what could happen.
What would the plot of Wayne Season 2 be?
“Wayne” is a story that Simmons can relate to because it is set in Brockton, Massachusetts, which is where he grew up. As a result, even though he’s still waiting to hear from Amazon about whether or not they want to keep the show, he’s already written the Season 2 opener and planned out the rest of the season. In a November 2020 interview with Inverse, the show’s creator talked about what Wayne and Del will do next.
Simmons said, “I don’t think it’s very important to say that Wayne is in jail.” Del is in a situation I won’t get into, but Wayne is trying to go straight and get back to Del and find the peace that he needs.
There is one person who would like to see Season 2 happen. Mark McKenna would like to see it happen. According to Inverse, he told the showrunner: “The writing for the first episode of Season 2 is one of the best I’ve read in the “Wayne” story I’ve read.” “It would be so lovely if I could make it. It would be great.”
Because “Wayne” hasn’t shown any new episodes since 2019, people shouldn’t write it off just yet. If any show can beat the odds and come back after so long, it’s “Wayne.”
The cast of Wayne Season 2
Wayne wouldn’t be the same without him, so Mark McKenna, who played the bad guy with a good heart in the first movie, should be back in the second one. Ciara Bravo, who plays the spunky teen, should stay in the show because he feels for Del, the Bonnie to his Clyde (even though she is being sought by her father and goon-like siblings across state borders).
Wayne hasn’t yet killed anyone with his violent methods, so it makes sense for the rest of the cast to come back together as well. In the second season, we can expect to see more of Del’s father, Dean Winters, and her brothers Carl and Teddy (twins Jon and Jamie Champagne), as well as Principal Cole (Mike O’Malley) and his friend Orlando (Joshua J. Williams), as well as Officer Jay (James Earl) and Sgt.
Stephen Geller (Stephen Kearin). We don’t know yet if we’ll see more of Wayne’s rivals in Ocala, like Reggie (Francesco Antonio), Calvin (Kirk Ward), or even Wayne’s mother in the show (Michelle Watkins). Wayne might not get to take that car back up north with him, so we think there’s still more fighting to be done.

Wayne likes to hit home runs. Many people have said that Wayne and Del are like Bonnie and Clyde because of how they look.
However, you must agree that the main characters have a more compelling sense of purpose and justification for going on a rampage than the rest of the group.
Like there is order in the middle of chaos. IndieWire’s Ben Travers performed an A- because he thought it was very well done.
He said, “Wayne may have heard of other stories, like Bonnie and Clyde.” If you don’t like the way Simmons is, you’ll love this new show. It’s clever, engrossing, and all-around great, and it makes its way on the cold roads of the East Coast of the United States.
