Singer, songwriter, actor, and activist Yemi Eberechi Alade hails from Nigeria. She joined with Effyzzie Music Group after winning the Peak Talent Show in 2009, and her single “Johnny” became a top hit in 2014. Alade grew up in a multiethnic Nigerian household; her father, James Alade, was a police commissioner from Ondo State, and her mother, Helen Uzoma, is from Abia State. The cultures of her parents, the Igbo and the Yoruba, are sources of inspiration for her, as stated by Yemi. Alade earned his secondary education at Victory Grammar School in Ikeja and his undergraduate degree at the University of Lagos. Alade confirmed the release of Empress, her fifth studio album, on November 17, 2020. She announced the album’s release date on November 20, 2020, and shared its tracklist and cover art with fans. The album has 15 tracks and features Grammy winner Estelle, as well as Vegedream, Patoranking, Rudeboy, the Mzansi Youth Choir, and Dadju. Advocacy
Throughout her career, singer/songwriter Yemi Alade has participated in various advocacy initiatives. Promotion of COVID-19 for 2020
After the coronavirus epidemic swept through Africa in 2020, Alade became a spokesperson for the UN Development Programme, where he advocated for the safety and welfare of the continent’s poor. Alade’s involvement in the Sustainable Development Goals has grown since she was appointed a United Nations Development Programme ambassador; she has participated in more programmes and activities that aim to bring about improvements in environmental quality and the elimination of gender-based violence.

To get more Africans vaccinated against COVID-19, Alade was named the “It’s Up To Us” Pan-African campaign’s worldwide ambassador on March 2, 2022. The campaign is a collaboration between the Africa Centre for Disease Control and the MasterCard Foundation.
